I Has anyone attempted to solve the puzzle/riddle in the scratch ticket of the Gambling With The Devil CD? This is the riddle: Behind the grey that hurts your eyes A promise to a treasure lies Must wipe away Lucifer's spray Uncover what he hides away 7 7 7 Though what you'll find you ought to know As Holy Numbers - let me show: Diminished by those of the beast The magic seconds are released Step back a minute and you'll hear A word you need to fear

Just got the new album. wasnt a BIG fan of the previous two, but i am a generally big fan of this era of the band (deris era), an although i prefer the kiske era, it is stilla wesome, especially this new album. i mean the consistency is brilliant, best since the dark ride, maybe even the best since the time of the oath! fave song would have to be: dreambound. gotta love that tune

Anyway, both bands sounded fantastic, Helloween played some old staff no one expected, a little disappointment was whole King Of A Thousand Years and only one part of Keeper of The Seventh keys, but ok, show was great.

I like Andi Deris' albums with Helloween. He put a different way to the usual form to sing in this metal genre. "The Dark Ride" is a masterpiece.

Loved new album. One of their best i think since Kiske. By the way: new Kiske (complete garbage) stuff makes Micheal Bolton look like Death Metal.

Started to listen to Helloween when they released Keeper 1 and I have to say, think some of you have heard this before but...when Kiske left Helloween the band kinda died...a few good songs though on the albums after Kiske, and they are still a very good live band, seen them 6 times.

The Keeper albums are obviously classic and hard to beat, but I reckon some of the Deris-era albums were top notch. The best of them would have to be The Time Of The Oath and Master Of The Rings. It features some quality songwriting and Deris's voice fits the songs well. The new one, Gambling With The Devil, was one of my favourite albums of the year as well. With Kiske at the helm, Helloween was a lot more epic and melodic... now I think they are a more straight-forward heavy metal band and Deris allows for a lot of variety. Plus, the 2 Kiske albums without Kai Hansen weren't very good. Chameleon in particular was very poor.

Haven't posted since the new album came out so I must add that the new album is fucking amazing, probably the best Deris album, the only bad thing about it is that they use the word sheister, and the cover art (how horrible is that!) but that aside the album is probably one of the best if not the best of '07

Also loved Gambling With The Devil. I was rating my songs when I found out that all of those were rated 5 =P Still, I'm new at Helloween... what are their best albums? I was just noticing something, too. How people have a preconception of the band depending on how you say its name. If you put emphasis on Hello, then it's ok, but if you say HELLoween, they'll all get lost in strange faces I know there are a lot of Helloween fans here. They're probably my absolute favourite power metal band of all time. They are my favorite band of all time.

23.05.2008 - 14:05 Written by Guest on 28.04.2008 at 03:53 LOL yeah I have to be careful when telling my mom about my latest CD purchases. Wouldn't want her to take me back to the asylum! Seriously, the best Helloween albums are Keeper of the Seven Keys Part I and II. Those albums more or less define power metal. Also Walls of Jericho was their first album, featuring a younger Kai Hansen on vocals and guitar, will give you a glimpse of where he was coming from musically. Definitely skip over Pink Bubbles Go Ape and Chameleon, as those albums are terrible. Other than that you really can't go wrong. Master of the Rings is tough to get ahold of, but it's solid, and Time of the Oath is great. Better Than Raw, The Dark Ride, and Rabbit Don't Come Easy are also solid albums. I have not heard the newest one, but I've heard good things. But nothing compares to Keys albums! Top priority!

But it's not their fault or anything, it's just that some people tend to like some songs rather than other... No "terrible songs", only not in my style. Have skipped over those albuns you said, though.

The only Helloween that I've heard is the live album that I got from work last year - Live in Sao Paulo. I fucking hate it when not only I can hear the crowd cheer, but when they fucking sing along. It's corny as hell. I still have not heard a regular album by this band. The King for a Thousand Years did sound like it had some potential, but I wouldn't know because the gay crowd ruined it.

ive been listening to a bunch of "Walls of Jericho" lately. Victim of Fate is probably one of my favorite Helloween songs at present.

04.01.2009 - 07:29 Written by VPeter on 16.10.2008 at 13:56 mmm i say it depends on what album you start with after kiske left. Andi Deris' voice is a bit iffy on the first few records that feature him but i think he gets better as time goes on. its also a matter of style too.

Wow Helloween is legendary... I can't recall when I first heard of them.. I think I was 14..or 15... and I loved them at the first guitar note I heard from them. They're amazing I get into every of their damn songs I I think they're the best power-speed metal band ever. My fav songs are probly.. Eagly Fly free (from Keeper pt.2) A tale that wasn't right (keeper pt.1) Future World (keeper pt.1), Power (Time of the oath) and obviously the amazing, Keeper of the seven keys (keeper pt.2) Yeah I got their DVD live on 3 continents.. its crazy Its incredible to think that they went through all that shit and still are the leaders of the genre.

First time I heard music of Helloween is veeery looong ago- in summer 1985 in polish radio, it was the song "Victim of Fate" from the EP "Helloween". I vas really shocked- screaming vocals of Kai, very fast, superb lead guitars.... And the album "Walls of Jericho" is for me the best metal album in the 20th century. My opinion the best album with M.Kiske was the second Keeper. And with Andi ? Yes, Gambling with the Devil - well done, boys.
