Sex Machineguns - New Album Due In October

Japanese metallers Sex Machineguns have announced they'll be releasing a new album later this year. All we know at present is that it'll be out on October 29th via Kanameishi Records. It will be their first full-length release since 2011's SMG. The band ended a two-year hiatus back in July with the release of single 未練 Fire! (Miren Fire!). Satan - To Release Live Album, Artwork Revealed

British heavy metal legends Satan are releasing a live album to celebrate their live debut appearances on the North American soil in support of their latest and very successful album Life Sentence, released on Listenable Records in April 2013. The cover art for the new live album Trail Of Fire: Live In North America was designed by visual maestro Eliran Kantor, who also designed the art for the band's previous album, Life Sentence. Brimstone Coven

Brimstone Coven is a retro-hard rock / doom band that hails of out Wheeling, WV. They began brewing their own blend of "dark occult rock" in the early months of 2011. Corey Roth (Guitarist) wrote the first five songs, which would later become the band's self titled album. Roth went on to handpick three seasoned musicians from the local scene. Andrew D'Cagna (Bass), Justin Wood (Drums), and "Big John" Williams (Vocals) were recruited to carry out Roth's plan for sonic domination.

Saxon - Working On New Album

British heavy metal legends Saxon have commenced the songwriting process for the follow-up to 2013's Sacrifice album. In a recent interview, frontman Biff Byford confirmed that the band has been working on their next album and he is also working on a solo album himself. He expects the new Saxon album and his solo output to be released in 2015.

Fantômas - To Play Entire 'The Director's Cut' Album At RockOut Fest

Aldious - Drummer Announces Retirement

Aruto, the drummer of all-woman power metallers Aldious, has announced she'll be retiring from all musical activity this November. In a statement on the band's website, she explains that her forthcoming marriage will see her move away from Tokyo, where Aldious are currently based, and has therefore decided to withdraw from the band so as not to disrupt their activities.

Destrose - Drummer Announces Departure

Talk about coincidences. After Aldious drummer Aruto announced she'd be leaving the band, Haruna, drummer of fellow all-woman troupe Destrose, has said she too will be leaving her band before the end of the year. Both women are departing for the same reason: to get married.

Xerath - III

Harmony of elements can be a truly spectacular thing. While metal and symphony have formed many remarkable unions in the past, Xerath's more modern approach seeks continual refinement in order to leave their own impression on the unison. One would assume some simple math would apply here; I + II = III, ergo this album is more than just another number in a discographical sequence, and is the sum of the band's studio strengths. Yet simple math metal this is not, the polyrhythmic driven effort to meld the two elements in a refreshing way requires more than a simple approach, which leads to the question: is the third time the charm?

King's X - Drummer Suffers Heart Attack

King's X drummer Jerry Gaskill has suffered a heart attack. The band explains that he will undergo double bypass surgery but is stable. This means, of course, that the progressive group has to cancel all upcoming shows. This is his second heart attack. The first one happened back in February 2012. Best of luck to Jerry Gaskill. Hopefully, he can recover from this.

Fear Factory - Sign With Nuclear Blast, New Album In 2015

It's time for a new Fear Factory album folks! The Los Angeles industrial metallers have signed a deal for North America and Europe with Nuclear Blast Entertainment and are currently working on material for their Nuclear Blast debut. Firtan - Niedergang

Jesus, "epic" black metal is a sad little world sometimes. Having an uncomfortable amount of synthesizers crammed down your throat is lauded while thoughtful song writing is thrown to the wind. It's nice to hear bands like Firtan still giving a shit about their music.

ProgPower USA 2015 - Line-Up Revealed

This year's edition of ProgPower USA is concluded today in Atlanta, Georgia with Masterplan, Pain Of Salvation, Jon Oliva's Pain and more performing on the final day. As usual, the organizers are already announcing the bands that will perform on the next edition. The ProgPower USA XVI presents a stellar line-up. Among the bands which will be performing we find Anathema, Falconer, Anubis Gate, Angra, Riverside, and Persefone. You can expect plenty of special sets next year, including the final live performance of Falconer.

The Deathtrip - Soon To Release Debut Full-Length

The Deathtrip is a relatively unknown band and has just two demos in their discography. A few days ago, a Facebook profile popped up, and news of the forthcoming full-length album were posted shortly after. The album, called Deep Drone Master, will be released on the Finnish record company Svart Records. The band currently consists of vocalist Bjørn "Lord Aldrahn" Dencker, session drummer Dan "Storm" Mullins, and guitarist "Host". Their debut album has been mixed by Snorre Ruch from the legendary Thorns and is set for international release on November 14th.
