The first review I published while working with Obscene Productions was a Negligent Collateral Collapse release if I'm not mistaken; people at Metal Storm then started sending me a lot of messages and e-mails requesting reviews for many Obscene releases (and I keep receiving them by the way). No Mercy by the polish band Squash Bowels was one of the most solicited reviews, so here I am reviewing it for the Goregrind fanatics.

When a band is as good and admired as Squash Bowels there are not many things to say if you know what I mean. No Mercy is probably the most acclaimed album ever released by these Goregrinders; and it actually deserves all the praising in the world because it is one of the most intense and originally sardonic records I've ever heard in my reviewer days.

The musicianship presented in this CD is brilliant; you can of course hear the tightness this band uses in their scales, they also add that punk pattern for some passages and finally the utter brutality that Squash Bowels drills in every chord and in every beat of their roster. What's really impressive about this album is the capability to create a perfect mix of both violence and creativity; the music has a mild groove towards the breakdowns that makes it quite catchy and enjoyable, but oddly, every track has a fast drum-pattern that makes the whole experience a lot more hostile and sickening?I know there's also Rotten Sound for this matter, but to tell you the truth Squash Bowels does it way better, not to mention that they started doing this blend earlier than the aforementioned band.

Is this Squash Bowel's best album to date? I'm not sure, it is their most popular title indeed, but this band has also a lot of old jewels in their history; for example, The Mass Rotting - The Mass Sickening shows a chaotic band with insane timing and grotesque schemes, Tnyribal represents a rawer band and finally No Mercy illustrates the enormous power of Squash Bowels, their complex side along with the multifaceted songwriting skills that make this band one of the most praised bands in Goregrind history.

This is a cult record no matter what anybody thinks, its power stroke many ears back in the days?all in all this is the reason why Squash Bowels became a bigger name in the scene; buy it as soon as possible.
