Dirge Music Gone Soul-Wrecking

Well, here it is. I was a bit reluctant over listing my favorite funeral doom metal albums but here they are. Feel free to leave a suggestion or two. It's highly appreciated.

Also the albums are sorted by the date of release.

well to be honest, I just played that album once and then for odd reasons, it got deleted from my hard drive. Back then I did not know what is exactly funeral doom but for sure "clouds are burning" resembled esoteric and I thought it is. overall, it was a damn good album

Listened to an excerpt and it sounds like a cross between Funeral Doom Metal and Death/Doom Metal. Still, I think I'll add it once I'm done with it. Thanks for the suggestion.

So that would be "funeral death doom" metal, like Evoken. But I haven't heard anything by Faal, so can't comment on what genre they're playing, but I thought it was blackened doom.

Faal is like Esoteric but with some slight black in it and post rock. Not really black doom. More funeral doom with black and some post rock as well

Well Blood Geometry is easily his (Mutatiis) best, but it's not an easy listen at over two hours, and is honestly more neoclassical black metal than funeral doom. I'd highly recommend you check out Cold Walls And Apparitions though, perfect for a list like this.

Then it's settled. I'll listen to both of them but I sense CWAA may have a better chance of being added to this list. Thanks

Now that you're asking, I personally pick Skepticism - Stormcrowfleet as best and Esoteric - The Maniacal Vale as second best.
