Resurrected - To Begin Recording New EP Next Week

German brutal death metallers Resurrected will enter the studio next week, on December 27th, to begin recording their new yet-untitled EP. The band posted the following short update on their MySpace page: "On December 27th we'll start to record our yet untitled EP finally. We're quite nervous to record the new stuff as the songs are really great. Hope you all love it. We'll keep you updated on the recording process with some studio reports and videos so stay tuned."

High On Fire - Enter The Studio To Record New Album

US stoner metallers High On Fire have entered Salem, Massachusetts' GodCity Studios to begin recording their yet untitled new album. The band is collaborating with producer and Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou on the new effort, the band's sixth studio album and the follow-up to 2010's Snakes For The Divine. The album is expected to be released on mid-2012 through eOne Music.

ETHS - New Album Cover Art And Tracklist Revealed

French female-fronted metallers ETHS will release their third album, III, on March 2, 2012 in Europe (March 12 in North America) via Season Of Mist. The CD was recorded at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden with producer Fredrik Nordström, who has previously worked with At The Gates, In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Arch Enemy and Soilwork, among others.

Hayagriva - New Album Set For 2012

Descendant XII, the new upcoming album from Malaysian melodic black metal band Hayagriva will be released on January 1st, 2012 via Khakan Production (Malaysia). The follow-up to 2007's Red Heaven was recorded between 2009 and 2011 at several studios in Malaysia. More album details were previously reported here.

Psilocybe Larvae - Finish Recording New Album

Russian death/doom metallers Psilocybe Larvae have completed the recording of their new album entitled The Labyrinth Of Penumbra. The recording and mixing process took place at studio Kontakt under the guidance of Yury Smirnov, mastering duties were handled by Mats Lindfors at Cutting Room and cover art was taken care of A-Ra. The new song entitled "Soul Trekking" can be heard at this location.

German power metal band Freedom Call has revealed details about their upcoming new album. It will be entitled Land Of The Crimson Dawn and it will be released on February 27th, 2012 (Germany: February 24th, 2012; USA: February 28th, 2012) in three versions: as a jewel case featuring 14 songs, as a limited double CD digipak including six additional bonus tracks and on double coloured vinyl LP. Kamelot - Confirmed For 70000 Tons Of Metal And Wacken Open Air 2012, Update On New Album

US symphonic power metallers Kamelot are the newest confirmation for the 70000 Tons Of Metal festival and Wacken Open Air 2012, as was revealed on their official website. Kamelot's founder and guitarist Thomas Youngblood states: "We are very excited about returning to Wacken for 2012, this is one of the best festivals in the world and we will be planning our biggest stage presentation ever. Gwar - European Tour Cancelled

The European leg of US alternative metallers Gwar's Return Of The World Maggot tour, scheduled to kick off in January 2012 has been cancelled after several promoters pulled the plug on shows, citing poor ticket sales.

Gwar spokesman Dave Brockie commented on the tour's cancellation: "Several of the promoters were alarmed by the low ticket sales, and they decided to start pulling the plug on shows. It got to the point where we had lost so many shows that we simply could not afford to do the tour."

Within Temptation - New Video Released

Dutch symphonic metallers Within Temptation have released a new music video for the song "Fire And Ice". The video features live footage and video footage shot especially for visuals used in The Unforgiving Tour. You can watch it below.

The song comes off their fifth studio album The Unforgiving, which sold around 12,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 50 on The Billboard 200 chart.

Moonspell - Sign With Napalm Records

Portuguese gothic metallers Moonspell have signed a worldwide recording deal with Napalm Records.

A new album by the dark metal band revolving around the charismatic frontman Fernando Ribeiro will be released in spring 2012.
