I got their new album 'Memorial' a few weeks ago, and it's fucking awesome. It sounds like their older works fused with the material from their later releases, all to form one pretty monster album. Since Moonspell experiments a good bit with each album, all of their albums tend to have their own sound which makes them stand out from one another... which can be a hit or miss for a band. In my opinion though, Moonspell seems to hit more then they miss, which is something I hope they will keep up. Not to mention that they are also excellent live. So everyone, post your views/thoughts this band...

Thats bad, if she has a concert next day she has to take care of herself. But oh well, I'm there to see Moonspell not her.

I wasnt bothered with it to be honest, for me music is music, you can enjoy it with or without sunlight.
Although its quite ironic to be singing "full moon madness" during the day, its actually nice

I cannot understand the news, but I guess it's a good news
So I like to have a Moonspell DVD, and of course a legendary DVD, just like what Amon Amarth released or even better..
2 or 3 DVD's including their earlier songs as Bloodtears said, and also Memorial and Night Eternal songs...
I have one of their unofficial DVD, on Rock in Rio 2004, and they perform awesome in live.
So I hope this DVD going to be a nice one.

Here are 2 new videos of Moonspell new tracks for watching on Youtube:

Scorpion Flower
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdZAhiy1CsA

Night Eternal
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gxyid0bwFE8

Scorpion Flower isn't well for me. I always wait for nice video's by Moonspell.. But the Night Eternal is a nice. I like that. And interesting point that they used the woman who was on the album cover in their video.

I really can't understand the praise about Night Eternal, I find it an overated, average cliche Gothic Metal album.
I hoped they continued the path of Memorial, instead of playing it safe by going back to cliches.
The keyboards are also very kitchy at times -probally an effort to cover up this generic album.

Next week on Friday will be my first time seeing Moonspell since 2001, and I'm definitely looking forward to it! I was trying to explain to a rather close-minded friend of mine how much Moonspell has changed since then, and yet he continues to disagree with me (without even listening to their newer CDs!)

Honestly, when I first saw Moonspell, who headlined a tour with Lacuna Coil, they were a band that seemed out of touch with the fans, at least the US ones. The songs they chose to play were some of their worst - and they only made it up by closing with "Opium," which is sort of a staple Moonspell song. Lacuna Coil completely blew them away (particularly since they were on their "Unleashed Memories" tour and had yet to change their sound to what they are today), and many of the fans left during the Moonspell set out of boredom.

But I am really confident they will erase my memory of that gig and put on a killer supporting set before Dimmu and Danzig take over. I'm not sure why I haven't seen Moonspell since they released "Memorial," but finally the time is close

I saw them play before Dimmu and the crowd just wasn't as into it as they were with Dimmu, which is understandable. The thing is, their sound was much better than Dimmu, who's keyboards were completley drowned out by the drums.
