i added that point because i have remembered last year's Twilight Of The Thundergod, where almost everyone is claiming "Guardians Of Asgard" is the best song, while i find it almost worst one from the album

"Guardians Of Asgaard" is the best song on that album . But to stay on topic: I also listened to the new Ensiferum today, but I was somehow disappointed. It is an ok album, but I like all their previous works more

Anyway, I listened to "From Afar" a few times. Well, it definitely didn't seem bad. "Victory Songs" still is my favourite album but who knows, maybe after 15th listening I'll like this new album more than that.
The best songs, in my opinion, are the longest ones - Heathen Throne and The Longest Journey.

Ensiferum has done a good work.

Yes, ye sea dogs! I listened t' th' new one aswell, an' t' be honest 't be alstarboard. I missed th' same brilliant lead guitars. But, since Jari-era be over, I probably ortin't be expectin' anythin' whole in that way. But 'tis safe t' say that 'tis nay bad. Startin' t' like it

erm...any points supporting those opinions?

i say this song isnt the best (and maybe isnt even good for me) because i am lacking any strong melody in here...i am not too much into heavy "brutal" riffs alone

Dunno, "Guardians Of Asgaard" doesn't seem so cool to me, it indeed lacks some good melody. I prefer "Tattered Banners and Bloody Flags". I like the drums in the beginning and I find it powerful in melody as well.

Am I the only one who thinks Kasper might be pretty drunk? His English rocks.

Why are we debating the songs from an Amon Amarth album in the Ensiferum thread? I'm with Ellrohir on this one. "Guardians" is one of the weakest tracks on Twilight, but it's great live.

My excuse is that having seen both bands for the first time at the same show, I will always associate them. Yeah, that's it.

Back to the band at hand, I have to admit that "Stone Cold Metal" is growing on me with each listen.

I guess i gotta listen to the album a couple of times again...but there are so many albums i wanna hear and the time still flows the same speed...

I was actually trying to do a little subtle joke. You know, the album isn't out until September.. still a few got to listen to it.. Hehe

Blame the people who are "distributing" it through internet, not us

For me listening to an entire album before its release is kind of like getting christmas presents. Its always tempting to peak before-hand, but it completely ruins the anticipation for when I finally get it in my hands. Hence why I'm going to remain abstinent until September.

Well i have to say i am not planning to buy it...at least not immediately when it will be expensive as hell - i would rather spend the money on 2 or 3 other cds with older releases or by not so well known bands

one day i should have enough money to buy any cd i want, but it is not now, so far i still have to count

I know what you're getting at. Though I would only listen to an album after it's released with albums like Wintersun - Time. Since the hype is way over dimension. I can't wait to listen to it myself - but not to ruin it, I will conquer the temptation of torrents, since it will be leaked before release - no doubt. Like From Afar.
