Evil, I don't know. But insane? Very possible. I've read an swedish interview with him... and the things he says there are so damn crazy that you almost have to be insane to say them. A lot of stuff about how much he hates his mother. I don't know, but I got the feeling that his severe psychological issues are real.

Or just really depressed. Reality is different, then.

Has anyone heard a CD by Funeral Dirge? Where you can hear Niklas Kvarforth on vocals? Apparently he drank acetone the night before he recorded the vocals, which corroded something in his neck... I'd love to hear those vocals! Niklas is insane. :

Like Nervel said: I have the split. But the Funeral Dirge part is qute crappy. The sound is so bad that he might as well not have sung at all.

I'm sorry dudes, but I don't like the new Shining album at all. Kvarforth's vocals annoy me so much. I'll give their older stuff a chance though.

Go for The Eerie Cold then. One step before Halmstad in the process, so with all the cool other influences and the unique sound, but Kvarforths' vocals are still in a way you will like them.

Okies I just got it and you're right, it is much better than the new one. The vocals are better as well, but either it needs to grow on me or it's just not my thing.

You mean Halmstad is not your thing? Could very well be. I for one love both, but The Eerie Cold a tad batter.

wooow shining's singer make his 27th suicide

.. I've been listening to Halmstad a lot lately, the music/instrument aspect of that album is really great and their "rendition" of Moonlight Sonata was enjoyable. I'll say that intially I despised the vocal's, but they have definitely grown on me - although they're obviously odd and kind of bad at time's, overall a great album. Track four, "Besvikelsens Dystra Monotoni" is probably the best IMO, and the third track with the crying girl is very chilling.

Yeah, that crying girl is indeed very chilling. So far, I feel most of their samples are very good. The girl, the crying Kvarforth (?) in track 5 on The Eerie Cold. And of course, the great intro of Halmstad, the amazing outro on The Eerie Cold and the always enjoyable:

Wrists are for girls, I'm slithing my throat.

An interview with Kvarforth here, rather old (may 2007) yet enjoyable. I laughed out loud when he said:

"I see no point in going on a tour with a band such as Dark Funeral for example as that would have been like throwing pearls to swine.."

I don't see anything wrong with his vocals, I actually see the vocals as a highlight. Well, sometimes he does pull a weird scream or two, but in my opinion he pulls it off well.

Ok so I went to the local gig they were playing with skitliv and hellsaw and they fucking sucked, I never understood what the great deal is about this band, but whatever. Anyway as for the live show, the gig was quite gay, in every sense of the word. It all started with Skitliv where Maniac (ex-mayhem) came totally fucking drunk to the stage and tried to sing, but all he got out of his mouth was "bjahhaaaaa, ghaaaaa...." *drinks jack daniels* "uoooaaaah, bhaaaaa". After that, Hellsaw entered the stage and that was just fucking brilliant, I heard good stuff about them and after seeing them live I must say, good band and very good live show. Ok now, Kvarforth entered the stage and first of all he yelled at the entire audience how fucking stupid we are and that we're all just a bunch of "fucking filthy jews" and that he will take us down to auschwitz, goddamn give me a break. So what was the gay thing about the gig? It was Kvarforth and Maniac, they were kissing and lickin' each other through the entire show and to be honest, they werent really out there for playing a gig, it was just "AWW YEAH LOOK AT ME I AM KVARFORTH AND I AM SO FUCKING EVIL AND I WILL KILL YOU!!". In fact, he seriously threatened some of us to kill us if we scream "Fuck Shining" again.

Though the show was interestig.

I wonder why they are suicidal black metal but they have their name "shining". Is that to make irony like the case of Lifelover
