War From A Harlot's Mouth are also great deathcore. Nothing beats Ion Dissonance though but then again they aren't deathcore ;]

03.02.2012 - 22:11 Written by X-Ray Rod on 02.02.2012 at 19:30 Do you think there is an added bass synth at around 3:42? Because every time I listened to that song I could not help but notice how irreally crushing that part was with that very low "buzzing" sound. Also favourite my mine from them, it is just so sick, in a very pleasant way. I intend to check out Catalepsy since I am interested plus I want to vote in the HxC category and I wouldn't do that without listening to all nominated bands. Can you describe their music a bit more aside from being djentle? Like, compare it to a similiar band from the genre or something like that.

Sorry, but it all sucks! Perhaps deathcore and goregrind are the worst genres I've ever listened. When I joined MS, a friend of mine showed me some Bring Me The Horizon songs. I was getting into because of songs like "Chelsea Smile", "It Never Ends" and "Don't Go". Later I discovered that these songs are more metalcore than deathcore, and the debut of the band is deathcore... Anyway, I don't like even metalcore now, but for nostalgic terms, I would choose BMTH, although I don't like them. For worst, I choose "Suicide Silence". Annoying vocals, Annoying music, annoying hair and annoying "'hardcore" fans.

That's about how I would sum it up too. Ion Dissonance on the other hand, now that is some shit I could definitely get into. Thanks for the posting about them. I may never have looked them up otherwise.

Beneath The Massacre is pretty good deathcore with a technical edge.

25.02.2012 - 21:52 Written by nihility on 25.02.2012 at 05:17 So tell me, why are the stuff linked in this thread exactly crappy music and why would it be not metal? What is it then, punk? The only thing in which deathcore relates to punk is its evolutionary path, but the genre itself is about as much related to punk as death metal is.

I like some older death/hardcore crossovers like burnt by the sun, but most of the ones that come out now are a bunch of carbon copies in both sound and haircut. i always get the feeling that their m.o is "just brutal enough!"

Apparently this band are deathcore, I dunno, maybe, I'm not really convinced of that, but this song is pretty immense: Gotta love the use of drum & bass.

I like this skit (Ted Maul isn't in this one though):
