The Slow Death - Set New Album Release Date

Death doom metallers The Slow Death's new album Ark finally has a release date. The CD version will be released on March 16th 2015, via Chaos Records. The album will be up for pre-orders next week. Ark will be released in 6-panel digipak with mate lamination and spot varnish, 16-page full color booklet with lyrics.

Yngwie Malmsteen - Former Keyboardist Mats Olausson Found Dead

Swedish keyboardist Mats Johan Olausson (Yngwie Malmsteen, Ark, Iron Mask) was found dead inside a hotel room in downtown Rayong, Thailand on Thursday afternoon (February 19th), according to Chaingrai Times and Bangkok Post. He was 54 years old and also played with Kamelot. R.I.P.

Obscura - To Enter Studio In April, Launch Digital Tab Book

Progressive death metal masters Obscura have announced that they will enter Dreamsound Studios this April to begin recording drums for their anticipated new album and first full-length in over four years. The band will work once again with long time producer V. Santura (Cosmogenesis, Omnivium). The album will see a late 2015 release via Relapse Records and will be the first to feature new members drummer Sebastian Lanser and guitarist Tom "Fountainhead" Geldschläger.

Tank - Reveal First Details About New Album

British heavy metal crusaders Tank recently extended their record deal with Metal Mind Productions, the label that re-released the band's back catalogue and issued their recent albums War Machine (2010) and War Nation (2012). Now, the recording is underway for the new Tank studio album scheduled for release in Europe on June 8th and in the US on June 9th. Titled Valley Of Tears, this will be the first album to feature the vocals of former DragonForce frontman ZP "Zippy" Theart.
