Gothic doom metallers Helevorn have entered the Psychosomatic Studios in Mallorca to start the recording sessions of their third album, Compassion Forlorn. After the albums Fragments and Forthcoming Displeasures, the new album will be released in early 2014 and will comprise eight tracks. The artwork will be done by the artist Andreu Beltrán. More details should be revealed soon.

Now the band has given a new sign of life stating that their final album is being recorded in honour of Trondr Nefas and will be the closing chapter of the band. They will finish what they started with the fallen frontman.

Metal veterans Melvins are set to release their newest studio album Tres Cabrones, on November 5th via Ipecac Records. Tres Cabrones is the nineteenth studio album by them, and it features their original drummer Mike Dillard, with current drummer Dale Crover playing bass. It is the first official album to feature Mike Dillard, as his only previous appearance before the recordings of this album were on Mangled Demos From 1983 and a handful of compilation and bootleg releases. Entitled Angels Cry 20th Anniversary Tour, it comprises songs from every single album, with a special focus on the band's debut Angels Cry.
