one of my fav. directors is Michel Gondry. He have made amazing videos (and movies by the way)!Is a great artist, very unique. He have work with Björk, Foo Fighters, The White Stripes and a lot of other artist! This man have a very original way to make videos, I mean his videos are beautiful and powerful or weird, in other words. UNIQUE
Another is Howard Greenhalgh I fall in love with his videos when I buy a Placebo DVD. The video? Nacy Boy... Sexy!!!! but he have work with other artists like: System of a Down, Elton John, Soundgarden (my always beloved video Black hole sun), INXS and Iron Maiden (but I don't like the video Rainmaker)...
This is just a few one I like. I choose the directors but i will post some videos I like some day! now I want some opinions and recommendation!

im not a huge video person but one of my favourites is beyond the dark sun by wintersun, as well as toxicity and chop suey by SOAD (syastem of a down) great videos

IMHO one of the best(at least when it comes to live songs) metal videos is http://youtube.com/watch?v=NUJH7y1yK_E Dio's theatricality and the hand gestures are awesome, also the sound is awesome.

The're many good videos, but maybe I would choose, One of Metallica (historical video), and someone of Red Hot Chili Peppers... I don't know in 80's muci you can find unforgetable videos .. XD

for metal videos i'd say my favourite one of all time is: How Like A Winter - All The Seasons Of Madness a really amazing symphonic doom metal song, it's catchy and beautiful and just allround awesome  by the way come to think of it i first saw it on one of the MS compilations a looooong time ago  ------------------------------------------------------------------- for nonmetal videos i definitely choose Tenacious D - Kickapoo it's really one of the most hilarious songs ever, and it features DIO and Meat Loaf as well by the way, is it me or do DIO and monty python member Eric Idle look exactly the same? (apart from the hair)
