^^^ Yea I'm skeptical of the return of David Vincent. Nothing against him, he is a great vocalist, but what was wrong with Steve Tucker? And the fact that Erik Rutan hasn't rejoined makes me think that all of their egos are too big now. I'll be one of the first to buy the CD whenever it comes out, but my expectations are definitely low.

I am an original fan from the days of Alters of Madness and David Vincent MAKES Morbid Angel, without him it just isn't the same. I personally cannot wait for the new material, I think it will be their best since Blessed Are The Sick, and am genuinely excited to see what they have come up with. Nevermore is an awesome track and if it is anything to go by then we are all in for a huge treat.

I personally prefer Tucker's vocals to Vincent's, Gateways to Annihilation is my favourite Morbid Angel CD and I think his vocals fit their style perfectly. However, that's not to say that Vincent's vocals aren't great too, just that Tucker does it more for me. I just feel he has a bit more 'oomph' in his voice, which I like. I saw Morbid Angel live a few months back with Vincent on vocals though, and I was positively blown away; it was one of the best gigs I've ever been to. I'm really looking forward to their new material.

Vincent's contribution wasn't so much vocals as direction. He kept the band focused on something bigger than geeking out with their guitars. He also -- when he wants to -- is a powerful frontman.

I love and own all the Morbid Angel albums. I think I will be old and dead before the new album arrives... I can hardly wait. I do have a problem that maybe someone can help me with. I really like the slow, eerie, gutteral sounds of these songs and was wondering if there were another band out there that is similar in sound. They are: God of Emptiness Where the Slime Lives Nothing is Not At One With Nothing Summoning Redemption I understand that many of these are Tucker on vocals but for some reason I love the gutteral, slow, dark sounds of these songs and have not found another group that sounds even close. (btw, I have all Mithras albums) Thanks!

Skinless can do a pretty good job at slow eerie gutteral too...Morbid Angel isn't just slow and eerie though...Where The Slime Lives does pick up when they do the soloing (a kickass solo in that song by the way) but there are other songs on Domination that are pretty fast-paced...

15.04.2009 - 21:02 Written by Guest on 14.04.2009 at 19:53 Yeah, its not so much imo to do with the speed. Where the Slime Lives is a relatively fast song I guess if you look at the drumming, but the vibes are very doomy, atmospheric, impending, ominous. So thats the idea i think.

I ordered the albums "Covenant" and "Domination" a week ago. They were supposed to arrive today, but they aren't here. Perhaps they will come tomorrow.

Eh, maybe, maybe not. For example, if Jari were to release Time right now and it turned out to be a collection of 80's disco covers with vocals by Garth Brooks there would still be a legion of fan boys praising the album for it's Epic and Majestic Avantegarde qualities. Could go either way with this one, IMO.

Morbid Angel were one of the first bands I got into. Great technicality and they vary from fast to sludgy. I never did like "God of Emptiness" though.

31.05.2010 - 02:37 Written by vezzy on 29.05.2010 at 15:15 Their variation is certainly one of their many strengths. Morbid Angel have practically everything one could desire from a proper Death Metal band.. Throughout their albums they've offered heaviness, dark atmosphere, a range of tempos and approaches, inventive guitarwork etc.

Yes, I agree with that, but I'm saying I prefer their more up-tempo songs.

Apparently there's new samples up. I'm unable to listen to them atm, but Leon from Mithras wrote quite a bit about him not liking it. http://mabb.us/forum/viewtopic.php?f...rt=280#p153149 He does a track by track review further down the page. I'm a little worried :/ Oh, and hahaha!

Yeah I read a track by track review that I think was on Terrorizer. It was a lame article, but it didn't sound promising for this album. I think a couple of the tracks will probably be good though. Nice pic

Looking forward to the New record. Some people are being put off by the apparent industrial and techno influences, But it has done nothing but peaked my interest, Its good to see the band trying new things this late into their career rather than just sit down and release the same stuff over and over, Even if the album is bad it will be interesting one way or another.
