Maryland Deathfest XII - New Bands Confirmed

Six more bands have been confirmed for the Maryland Deathfest XII, which promises to be a highlight next year. The new additions to an already strong line-up are My Dying Bride, playing an exclusive US appearance and the first US show since 1997, The Church Of Pungent Stench, also with an exclusive US appearance and playing an old school setlist of material from their first EP and first three albums, Hooded Menace, Ulcerate, Bölzer with an exclusive US appearance, and Windhand.

Living Sacrifice - New Album Coming In November

After three years, Living Sacrifice are back with a new album that will be titled Ghost Thief. Solid State Records will release the new effort on November 11th, so mark your calendars. Memoira - New Album Cover And Tracklist Revealed

After three years in the making, the wait will finally be over. Nightbringer - New Album In 2014

Good news, black metal enthusiasts. Nightbringer have finished recording their new album which will follow 2011's Hierophany Of The Open Grave. This as-yet-untitled new opus was recorded and mixed at Flatline Audio Studios by Dave Otero. You can expect it to be released by Season Of Mist in 2014. Be prepared!

Cradle Of Filth - Enter Comics With 'The Curse Of Venus Aversa'

Cradle Of Filth announced they were preparing some special things for the 20th anniversary of their debut album The Principle Of Evil Made Flesh including a comic book and here it is. The British metallers will publish the 72-page "adult graphic novel" called The Curse Of Venus Aversa which features a story by singer Dani Filth and New Orleans cult comic book author Kurt Amacker (Dead Souls, The 69 Eyes: Helsinki Vampires), who wrote the final script. It tells the story of a "salacious Victorian poet who faces down authorities, hoards of vampires, an ancient goddess, and his own demons ? all that, after the suicide of his lover Gabrielle."

Protest The Hero - New Drummer Unveiled

If you remember well, Protest The Hero announced that Moe Carlson had left the band and it was Lamb Of God's drummer Chris Adler who recorded the drum tracks for their new album Volition. Now their new drummer has been found and announced. Filling the slot permanently will be Mike Ieradi, a Canadian drummer who plays in The Kindred. Judging by the pic the band shared, he seems to capture the spirit of the band, and fits in really well.

Illnath - Call It A Day

Another band has decided to disband this year, this time it is Illnath from Denmark. The band's mastermind Peter "Pete" Falk announced that he is no longer interested in melodic extreme metal and the other band members felt it wouldn't make sense to continue the band without the founding member. As a consequence of that, the recent 4 Shades Of Me will be the group's last album and Illnath is now calling it a day.

Septicflesh - Enter The Studio

Finally some news about Septicflesh's new album. The Greek daemons have entered the Devasoundz Studios in Athens to start recording their upcoming, yet untitled, full-length album. The successor of The Great Mass will contain 10 songs and is expected to be released in North America via Prosthetic Records in early 2014.

Xandria - Recording New Album

Following their last release Neverworld's End, German symphonic metal act Xandria has just hit the studio this past week to start recording their next album. The yet to be titled new album is going to be the sixth studio album in the band's career. The production is a collaboration with Joost van den Broek (After Forever, Star One, ReVamp, etc.) and Sascha Paeth (Edguy, Epica, Avantasia and many more), joining forces with the group's main composer Marco Heubaum.

Wolves In The Throne Room - Releasing BBC Session On Vinyl

While there hasn't been any new material from Wolves In The Throne Room since 2011's Celestial Lineage, the black metal band has just announced an upcoming live release called BBC Session 2011 Anno Domini. On October 21st, 2011, Wolves In The Throne Room recorded two live tracks at the BBC's Maida Vale studios. Now Southern Lord confirms a special vinyl release of these sessions in North America on November 26th, 2013.

Illdisposed - Drummer Quits

Illdisposed is drummerless for now. They have announced that last Saturday Thomas Jensen confirmed his departure from the band. Thomas has been playing in the band for more than 10 years but somehow lost his motivation to go on. The death metallers wish Thomas all the best for the future and promise to announce a new drummer soon.

Exmortus - New Record Label, New Album In 2014

The Southern California thrash metal quartet Exmortus has signed a worldwide contract with Prosthetic Records (Skeletonwitch, Holy Grail, Scale The Summit). The group's full-length Prosthetic debut and third album overall will be released in February of 2014, when they will tour North America with Dark Tranquillity and Omnium Gatherum.
