Bands you like, but are ashamed of it

For me, the most obvious one is Rhapsody. They are really really cheesy, and all of their songs sound more or less the same to me. I feel it is all charged with vacuous optimism, and the lyrics are terrible. But yes, I like them. Please don't tell anyone.
Also, I like Bal Sagoth. They are pretty much the cheesiest band on earth, and it is precisely the cheesiness that makes me love them so. The "dark" vocals are anything but creepy and all of the "symphonics" sound fake. It's so bad that it's good!
There are some Emperor songs that I like. I have moral issues with liking Emperor. The black metal act is sometimes interesting, and often funny as hell. I approve of it . . . but only so long as it is an act. Church burning is not cool. Neither is killing people.

Well, for example, when I hang out with my uncle, he always teases me for listening to Iron Maiden. He finds Maiden not to be a real metal band, but some kind of pop-glam-rock commercialized bullshit. But i love my i uncle. He bought me a distortion pedal this summer. Yaaaay

Well in my town, you can see a shitload of stupid kids wearing Maiden T-shirts, but they can't tell which genre Maiden belongs to, or they can't name more than three Maiden songs. I would say that I am more proud of being able to play quite a few of Iron Maiden's songs on guitar. I remember that Maiden played in Ljubljana a year ago. Mass hysteria, dude.

Can't say any specific band, but there are some swedish and norwegian singer/songwriters that I really like, but am kinda ashamed for liking. The worst one being norways own Espen Lind. I think it's the lyrics, they seem to always fit for what I feel. It's so strange. And also the swedish artist Patrik Isaksson is among them. It's the same here, the lyrics fits with my feelings a lot of the time. And that I like one Britney Spears song drives me fucking mad! The song "Everytime" is the only song Britney's done that's good. Man, I feel ashamed of that.

While not ashamed per se, I hate when people look through my ipod and see Fairyland, they think it's hysterical. I listen to a lot of New Wave that I'm not too proud of, but it's what I grew up listening to along with New Age stuff that you hear on Pure Moods. Maybe Duran Duran is a little embarrassing...

im not ashamed exactly of anything i listen to but i sometimes dont want people to know that i like those emo/poppy rock bands like 30 seconds to mars. i mean i dont love them but that song attack is just awesome, and i like the fact jared leto was in fight club and his face got smushed i watch that bit over and over (sorry its a bit off topic!!)

I'm not ashamed of any kind of music that I like But sometimes... It doesn't feel so good when your mom listen to your music in your room and say "What a noise" or something... Maybe that's the reason why I keep my music for my own...
