So another year has gone by in Thrash Metal history, with this new year comes a new presentation. So by now you should know my list, if not well stop sleeping son. Consider this piece of work as a ''Searching Tool'' or some sort of ''Encyclopedia'' of the greatest Thrash Metal releases. From the very known classics like *Exodus - Bonded By Blood* to the more hidden jewels like *Believer's - Extraction From Mortality* I've got it all. I know it might look exhaustive but after many user's complaints I decided to add this guide so here are few tricks to browse it efficiently.

-----------------------------------

- Browsing My List - A How To Guide -

1. First of all, albums are ordered by years of release so if you don't like modern thrash metal (Resurgence and/or Revivalists) just don't go past Meshuggah's ''Destroy Erase Improve'' album, it pretty much draws the line between old school and modern thrash in the list. And no I don't consider ''Resurgence Thrash Metal'' to be a legitimate style, it's just to make it easier for you guys, when browsing the list.

2. Also, I've added every single album's thrash style. So if you like Death, Crossover, Prog, Tech, Power, Black, Grind and even Groove Thrash.. it's all there suit yourself.

3. Now that you know this, if you found a band that you like very much and can't stand searching for other albums of that band that I might have suggested because the list is too goddamn long and it fucks your brain up, don't panic. Hit Ctrl + F, and write the band's name in the created box (under the browser's search bar), then click NEXT, NEXT (...) to jump from one album to the other. Simple ain't it? You can do this with the style, country or even a chosen year.

4. Lastly, albums with a ''★'' after the genre's description represents albums that I consider as being classics of the genre or something you shouldn't miss, no I am not the all mighty reference guru in Thrash Metal, yes I do know a lot and yes it is possible for you to disagree with me on that matter. I do hope that this little guide did help you and if not, press Alt + F4, in order to gtfo. Have fun.

This is THE thrash list.

oh my friend, for me pestilence is not a Thrash Metal band Death / Tech Death. But not thrash in any case.
But I do have some Pestilence in my Tech Death List

Nope On my way to, though

Although Ulysses Siren - Above The Ashes was released in 2003 it is a compilation of two demos released in 1985 and 1987 and should therefore be mentioned in the 80s

And where is Exodus - Tempo Of The Damned from 2004? It totally destroys Tankard's release from that year at all fronts.

I know that Above The Ashes is a compilation, but it still came out in 2003 it does not matter the year, only the music.
And for Tempo, I thought adding it... maybe I should.

EDIT: Fixed, I added Tempo Of The Damned, but im not gonna put Above The Ashes in 1985/1987

But still, Above The Ashes came out in 2003. What difference does it make anyways, Im not gonna say the compilation came out in
1985, it didn't lol that would be a lie, even though the band was playing and released demos containing the songs way before.

Try out some Thrashless. They're new. See what you think. There are a couple of YouTube videos available for your listening pleasure out there.
Vombatus - 18.11.2012 at 14:17
You might want to check out Holy Terror - Terror And Submission (1987), Bifrost - Mythistory (1998), Evil Army - Evil Army (2006), if you haven't already ofc....

I already know byfrost.

Bifrost with an "i" (the guys from Netherlands), not with "y" like the one you listed (Norwegian ones).

Maybe it's just typo and we are refering to the same band

Yeah well Byfrost is a blackened thrash metal band from Norway so it is probably the same one we're talking about, xept it is really with a y. The only other ''Bifrost'' is written ''Bifröst'' and its a pagan/folk metal band from Austria which is not quite the same.

Actually I was refereing to these dudes: http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Bifrost/394

They aren't here on MS, but they pretty much kick ass... old school with some keyboards, varied songwriting, different vocal styles, etc. (originality, basically what 95% of other thrash bands lack ).

Frankly im not very fond of Testament's latest effort, Idk why but the lyrics and especially
the vocals on this one annoys the FUCK out of me. The music aint so bad but the vocals and shitty lyrics destroys it for me, gosh what happened.
Illog1cal - 05.01.2013 at 16:10
You are missing Exhorder's second album 'The Law' also you could add Exciter with 'Heavy Metal Maniac' 1983.
Kuroboshi - 13.01.2013 at 06:25
Amazing how anyone can love Thrash this much... I find most of the 80s thrash to boring to death. There are some jewels in there though. Good job with the list.
Kuroboshi - 13.01.2013 at 06:26
I think it's funny you didn't put Hordes of Chaos in the list. It's probably my favorite thrash album.

Lol I'll take the first part as a compliment anyways lol Thx man. And Yeah seems like alot of people are surprised that one can love thrash this much but what can I say
It makes me headbang, it drives me fucking mad I love the aggressivity and the pace... Its a matter of taste ya know, like anything else.

EDIT: You're probably right I should put Hordes Of Chaos, but I already have so many Kreator albums, but I think ima remove Phantom, it wasn't ''THAT'' good in comparison. Seems pretty fair lol.
Kuroboshi - 13.01.2013 at 07:29
Yeah, Phantom was pretty average. Nowhere near Hordes or Coma or EA.

I'm gonna rock your world baby, with some nice recommendations!

Darkane - esp. Layers of Lies (awesome) and Expandings Senses (Death thrash)
Terror 2000 - all CDs, Terror for Sale is best
Burn to Black - Mach 666 (black thrash) (I plan to review this beast)
Hatesphere - esp. Bloodred Hatred, The Great Blundgeoning and the Sickness Within (death thrash)
The Haunted - Made Me Do It, One Kill Wonder (distinctly less thrash than other Haunted albums though...), rEVOLVEr
Strapping Young Lad - Alien, City (industrial thrash) (well really hard to pigeonhole, and many people might not see them as thrash)

Have fun! As you can see, I come from a death background.

so keep me posted.

No offense, but even most non-thrash fans know that song, band and album. Guib not knowing this one is unthinkable. This Godless Endeavor is way better known than most albums on this list, easily.

Still a great album and I especially like the title track a lot.
Guib - 21.02.2013 at 22:27
Ok well.. Im not too sure Im gonna add any Nevermore lol. Im not saying its bad, not at all, of course not. But Its just... I don't think it actually fits in here. Anyways im sure most people will understand me. Hope so.

I always thought of Nevermore to be more progressive than thrash, so I see why you wouldn't add it to this list.
